Behind the Booth: Lessons from Rookoo's Slush'D Debut

“Behind the ‘screen’ is a friend” – Anthony Meirlaen
Yesterday marked Rookoo's debut as an exhibitor at Ghent Slush'D. A big thank you to the incredible Ghent Slush'D team for hosting such a great event and giving us the opportunity to showcase our Digital Employee.
And yes, we did a lot of talking! 😄
Key takeaway #1: 'Vocal cords, we need to talk'.
Speaking to so many curious people took its toll and by the end of the day, our voices were… let’s say, uniquely textured. Next time: Warmup those cords!
Thank you to everyone who came by and shared a moment with us. Truth be told, we didn’t quite know what to expect. In some cases, that might’ve made us a little long-winded.
Key takeaway #2: Tailor the pitch.
It was clear that different folks needed different strokes. Preparing distinct elevator pitches for varied audiences will be top of our list next time and ... maybe some homework on the attendee list to sharpen our approach.
Apologies if I gave anyone a slightly awkward stare without following up. 😬
Key takeaway #3: Channel your inner market vendor.
Making eye contact? Jump in with a conversation starter, lead them to the booth, and take it from there! Don't just stare...
All in all, it was a fantastic day filled with insightful conversations, new connections and a lot of learning.
For my seasoned exhibitor friends, I’d love to hear your tips for making the next event even better.
