From inspiration to reality checking in: My takeaways from the Start it Accelerate | @KBC bootcamp.

By Jeroen Borloo

Last week,Jared Dierickxand I dove headfirst into the KBC Startit Bootcamp: A whirlwind of insight, introspection, and invaluable connections. Two days packed with enlightening keynotes, breakout sessions, and opportunities to pitch and connect with other founders, partners and mentors.

The heart-racing moment? Pitching our company in just 60 seconds to a room full of sharp minds. Nothing like a full house to keep you focussed! It also gave us the opportunity to hear about all those groundbreaking ideas and innovations. The drive and passion in every pitch was great to witness!

Three key takeaways:
1. The power of perspective: I encountered a couple of "feet on the ground" moments. Sometimes you need to step back to see where to adjust your sails. While energizing, it also brought clarity about needed changes… and that's exactly what growth looks like.

2. The human side of founding: Kudos to KBC Startit for dedicating time to founder well-being. That universal "panic moment" we all face? Turns out it's part of the journey, and there's something incredibly comforting about knowing we're not alone in experiencing it.

3. A strong foundation: With the help of our new business coach,Christophe Cieters, we're setting some solid groundwork. Our first session already gave us actionable steps and clarity we didn't even realize we needed. It feels like we're building something truly sustainable.

While I'm energized by everything we learned, I'm equally grounded by the work ahead. The bootcamp has given us the tools to hit the ground running, and I'm ready for it.

A huge thank you to everyone I had the chance to speak with. I appreciate the openness in sharing both the highs and the lows.

Calling all fellow founders, what's been your most unexpected learning moment in your startup journey? What do you wish someone had told you in those early days? Let's share insights!
